Internship

As an intern in the production department at our factory, you will play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to the development of high-quality products to meet our customers expectations.

This internship program is designed to offer students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real work environment during their Professional Training Year (Placement) , develop practical skills and enrich their CV.  This Placement is for a fixed 13 months internship role from August 2025.

We are looking for someone who wants to have a real impact on our organization, who is willing to learn from industrial professionals but who can also bring a new set of ideas to problems. The projects you will be working on will be broad-ranging and varied in size, giving you exposure to the principles of manufacturing engineering & technology and, how a project environment operates.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Improving and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the Flowserve Valve Manufacturing plant
• Assist in Assembly and Test projects in the manufacturing site
• Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement Projects
• Supporting manufacturing in day to day activities
• A good balance of office work and being hands on in a shop floor environment
• Problem solving on live issues on manufacturing processes to keep production going
• Participate in Operational Excellence daily meetings and support the manufacturing activities

Preferred Experience / Skills :

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and motivated undergraduates who are en-route to obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and have the following skills:
 

• a practical adeptness and logical approach to problem solving

• a ‘can do’ attitude

• excellent analytical skills

• the ability to work own initiative to tight deadlines

• good English verbal and written communication skills

• high attention to detail

• flexible and adaptable

Applicants will ideally be on track to achieving a 2:1 degree.
 
Throughout your internship you will be mentored to help improve your skill set and receive training on any additional skills that may be required to accomplish your projects.
