Internship - Legal & Compliance (6 weeks)

Our Legal & Compliance team has the vision to build up one of the most state-of-the-art and dynamic legal and compliance functions in the Fintech space. We are looking for a team member with a truly innovative mindset. You will be given a lot of responsibility and freedom from day one and play a key role in the future success of Mondu!

In connection with a current compliance project, we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal or Compliance student to join our team for a 6 week paid internship. In this role, you will assist our Legal and Compliance department in ensuring that our company operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

The role will be based in Berlin where you’ll be an integral part of the global legal team of Mondu.

👩‍💻👨‍💻 What you’ll do:

• You’ll be entrusted to project manage a company level goal on our Legal & Compliance initiative regarding the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA)
• You’ll support in the regulatory filings and reports for this initiative, as well as provide administrative support towards automation and document management
• You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT security, finance, and operations, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

🚧 What projects are waiting for you?

The EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is a significant compliance challenge for EU financial entities. As an integral part of the DORA project team you get the opportunity to have first hand experience in an inhouse legal and compliance department and support this compliance milestone. You will be required to perform administrative and easy to medium complex legal related tasks, while having full visibility of the Legal & Compliance work in an EU financial entity.

• Currently enrolled in a law degree program or similar program with a focus on compliance and regulation, law and business administration
• Strong research and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least B2-level German
• Ability to work independently and diligently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google Ecosystem
• Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance issues is a plus

It would be a plus if you also:

• Have experience with legal inhouse teams
• Have experience in the payment industry or IT law
• Are proficient in German (B2 minimum)
• Can start as soon as possible!
