Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary
• Provide sales support to the Account Manager (AM) in managing the business relationship between VIAVI and customers by focusing on long term relationships, proactive communication, technical expertise and account administration including accurate forecasting of revenue/backlog reporting and contract review/administration.
• The role will involve both pre-sales and post-sales support for all products within the assigned portfolio as well as regular customer contact and report back to the AM on key learnings.
• This individual will be responsible for understanding and promoting our solutions based on market trends and customer needs and should be able to articulate the value proposition of our product portfolio to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Support the Account Manager in building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers at customer accounts through proactive engagement and feedback mechanisms.
• Understand and promote our solutions based on market trends and customer needs.
• Assist in preparation of proposals, quotations and other documentation as required to support the sale of products or services.
• Work closely with Marketing, Product Management and Technical Support teams to ensure the right message is communicated to the end user and help identify any gaps in the current messaging approach.
• Attend meetings with the AM to provide updates and gather information relating to customer activity, new developments and market trends.
• Develop an awareness of industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to the business unit’s product portfolio and use this knowledge to support the sales process.
• Ensure that all customer contacts are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Help coordinate and execute test plans to facilitate the evaluation of products.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned products, features and applications.
• Actively seek out opportunities to build skills and expand knowledge base e.g. through training courses, attendance at conferences and reading specialist media.
• Contribute to the development of new processes and procedures where appropriate.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Experience working in Telecom Industry preferred
