The Audit Intern will be part of the Clearway Audit team and will report to the Manager of Internal Audit.
The Clearway Energy Internal Audit function provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve Clearway’s operations. The mission of Internal Audit is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The Internal Audit function helps Clearway accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.
The Internal Audit function will seek to add value to Clearway through the performance of independent assessments of risk mitigation activities and the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls. Assessments will be guided by Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) professional standards and the use of innovative approaches. Internal Audit will furnish management with analysis, recommendations, and counsel focused on advancing the goals and objectives of the organization.
This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning in June 2025.
- We are looking for current juniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, data analytics, and are highly proficient users of Excel (macros, formulas, API).
Throughout this summer internship program, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You’ll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort.

What You'll Be Doing
The Internal Audit Intern will work with internal audit staff on various projects and tasks, assist with the planning and performing of a site visit and will be assigned with an individual project where they will be responsible for streamlining an Internal Audit projects and tasks through Excel automation. At the end of the internship, the Intern, Internal Audit will present their final project to leadership.
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals
- Natural curiosity and ability to probe into the depths of processes to detect control and audit matters.
- Solid attention to detail, with the capability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to consider/develop alternative solutions – “think outside of the box.”
- Excellent communication skills, including listening and the ability to communicate with all levels of clients in both verbal and written form.
- Flexible interpersonal style.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrates ability to handle multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Successful candidate should be a highly proficient user of Excel
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments. You’re comfortable taking initiative, asking questions, and speaking up.
What Would Be Nice
- Experience with programming or writing Excel macros
- Experience with API integrations

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

$21—$24 USD
