Summary
Human resources generalist is required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety. Must be detail-oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO, privacy, and related requirements. Advise management teams regarding prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and in assuring prompt and accurate updated information in the ADP system.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Input data obtained from Personnel Action Requests (PARs) for Position Changes, Wage Changes and Job Reclassifications.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability.
  • Responsible for benefits billing process from receipt of invoice through confirmation of payment; works closely with Accounts Payable and identifies and executes efficiencies within the process.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to applicant / employee questions or direct to appropriate department as needed and provide excellent customer service to all.
  • Provide primary support on employee relations and compliance issues.
  • Maintain records of employment eligibility documentation and any required work cards.
  • Manually file all new hires, rehires, I-9’s, separations, counseling notices, supporting documents and all documents containing signatures.
  • Responsible for I-9 accuracy and periodic audits.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the office.
  • Assist with processing separations and unemployment documentation.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
 

Education and/or Experience Associates degree or higher in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advance proficiency of Microsoft Office software especially Excel. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn ADP WorkforceNow.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
HR certification preferred. Must possess a Nevada Dispensary agent work card and be 21 years of age or older.
