ERM is seeking a dynamic Human Resources (HR) Senior Associate, with strong HR generalist and stakeholder engagement skills to join our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office. The ideal candidate would build key relationships with our major stakeholders, take a wider interest in our business of sustainability as well as being creative with HR solutions.

The role:

  • Payroll Management: Assist in managing the payroll process, ensuring accurate data collection, reconciliation, and compliance with local labor laws. Perform regular checks and balances to ensure the accuracy of payroll and benefits administration.
  • HRIS & Data Analytics: Leverage HR technology (e.g., HRIS, Power BI) to collect, analyze, and interpret HR data. Use this data to provide insights that drive decision-making and improve HR processes. Ensuring HR data is up-to-date and accurate at all times.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Assisting in ensuring adherence to local regulations, labor laws, and tax requirements
  • Employee Engagement Experience: Act as a point of contact for employees across the region for HR-related queries, assisting with employee relations issues and supporting initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention. This will also include creating and distributing a monthly e-newsletter highlighting HR activities, updates and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously look for ways to streamline HR processes and improve the efficiency of operations, using HR tech and best practices to ensure smooth day-to-day functions.
  • Intern Hiring: Build and maintain relationships with local colleges and attend University Career Fairs for creating intern pool and hiring.
  • HRDC Liaison: Involve in the processing of HRDC documentation and matters related to grants submission, claim request/submission includes respond to queries by HRDC
  • Other Ad Hoc Administration: Maintaining office services by organizing office operations and administration to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety, such as establishing regular procurement and vendor contacts

Let’s talk about you:

  • 2-3 years of related experience in HR Generalist and support role
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR/Psychology or relevant education background.
  • Experience in HR Operations/ Shared Services environment in multi-national operations.
  • Experience in working within a cross functional team. Experience in working within cross functional teams and able to support multiple countries.
  • Experience in Workday or other HR Systems.
  • A strong sense of business ethics and integrity including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand HR activities and processes.
  • Strong desire to step out of comfort zone to take stretch assignments to lead and improve self and others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a
  • Excited and enthusiastic to learn, and by the opportunities new challenges provide.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (e.g. MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Experience in creating newsletters or similar content is a plus
