Job Description
The Supply Chain HR team at Nordstrom is seeking an HR Representative (HRR) to provide administrative support for our Ontario, CA distribution center. The HRR will work closely with recruiting and other HR partners to oversee the timely processing of employee documentation to ensure smooth onboard of new hires. The HRR is responsible for preparation/facilitation of engaging new hire orientation and training and serves as the first point of contact for employee inquiries within the distribution centers. The HRR will report to the on-site HR Business Partner.
The ideal candidate will have highly effective administrative skills, strong customer focus, ability to take initiative, and effective critical thinking skills to triage and/or resolve employee issues of light to moderate complexity. This position will work onsite 5 days per week at the Ontario, CA DC.
A day in the life…

Send welcome orientation email to new hires prior to their first day

Communicate with Recruiting about any new hires that were not present for the first day of orientation and need to be rescheduled.

Greet new hires on-site and ensure they have brought the correct IDs.

Assist with completing the I-9 process.

Assist new hires with resetting their passwords.

Show new hires how to access online orientation remotely or on-site.

Show new hires how to accurately record time.

Utilize reporting to track new hire orientation completion status.

Submit termination requests for new hires who withdraw from the position.

Schedule an ASL interpreter to attend orientation when there are new hires who require that service.

Ensure all onboarding tasks have been completed.
You own this if you have…

1+ years of experience in human resources or administrative support

Experience using Workday or other HR systems to maintain employee records.

Experience facilitating and delivering training or other related facilitation experience such as group meetings or presentations.

Data entry experience with high level accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner.

Ability to organize and manage time effectively.

Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills

California: $18.75 - $39.00 Hourly
