We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
Your new team This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
The Compensation & Benefits Centre of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for the design and delivery of all people-driven expertise enabling harmonised and competitive employment terms and conditions across the three London-based teams. The team also focuses on managing expats, relocation logistics, visa and immigration processes.
The HR Controller manages the financial aspects of HR, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting. They ensure HR processes align with business goals while maintaining fiscal responsibility and provide insights to optimize staffing and benefits.

Your unique contribution
You will have 4 main areas of responsibility:
1. HR Cost Controlling: To collaborate with stakeholders to forecast labour needs and to own the quarterly Payroll & Benefits budget scenarios, ensuring that it takes place in a timely manner in line with Group requirements.
- You will also help to analyse overheads variances vs Budget by identifying key reasons behind trends.
- To support finance teams in strategic processes, such as budgeting and estimates forecasting, by providing accurate data and analysing and scenario-modelling all aspects of Compensation & Benefits.
2. Reporting: utilising reporting tools to generate insightful HR KPIs (FTE evolution, Turnover, Vacancy, Absences etc) that support informed decision making across the organisation.
- Create visual representations of HR data to communicate trends and insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Conduct regular assessments of workforce metrics and suggest improvements to optimise HR operations.
3. Financial Transactions: Monitor payroll & benefits reinvoicing process involving the UK based affiliates. This would include accruals, recharges and bonus reconciliations.
4. Headcount-Related Reporting: Conduct regular and ad hoc headcount-related reporting (including Group Social Reporting) and KPIs for the UK-based affiliates, which includes engaging with auditors if required.
Who you’ll be working with Internally, you’ll work with HR Business Partners, HR Directors, Finance Business Partners, Local HRCs, HQ, Payroll & Admin.
Your blend of talent
This position could be right for you if you:
• Possess a proven track record in forecasting staff costs and analysing data, with 3-5 years of experience in an international or matrix organization. Experienced as an HR/Financial Controller, FP&A, or related role.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, as this role demands both technical expertise and strong analytical skills.
• Bring a results-driven mindset, a proactive approach, and a curious attitude.
• Able to efficiently balance priorities and workload.
• Can maintain confidentiality and collaborate effectively with others.
• Possess intermediate proficiency in Excel, with strong expertise in using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and other functions to analyse large datasets.
• Have experience in delivering presentations to senior leadership.
• Skilled at communicating technical or complex concepts in clear, straightforward terms.
• Experience with Workday and Adaptive Planning advantageous
• Thrive on identifying inefficiencies and making recommendations in improving the tool and/processes etc.
