Job Description
The Head Sommelier ensures the smooth running of the Sommeliers operation on a day-to-day basis, in line with company standards and policies. To direct, control and coordinate all wine purchasing and cellaring activities, the quality of wine list and wine service and to assist all guests with beverage recommendations. Oversees all wine standards in the resort ensuring that they’re conformed to the requisite standards and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years Sommelier-related experience in a luxury hotel/resort
At least level 3 WSET certificate or equivalent
Beverage managerial experience, preferably in an upscale hotel/resort
Versed in budgeting and cost control, including but not limited to the reading and interpreting of inventory reports, beverage cost reports and monthly financial statements.
