We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. We are looking for a strategic leader to own and scale Zopa’s content, across web and social channels. This role will develop and drive a content-led strategy to significantly boost our domain authority, drive organic traffic, and extend Zopa’s reach across social channels. The ultimate goal is to make zopa.com the authority on everything Zopa-related and provide the right information to customers in their decision-making.
You’ll take a holistic approach to content considering the product evaluation journey for our customers’ purchase decisions, particularly our new current account launch. Starting with overseeing on-site SEO optimization for zopa.com, then expanding into informational content, product comparison, and more editorial / guides, then amplifying all this via our owned social channels (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.).
This role is perfect for someone who can think strategically but can also make change happen - whether it’s planning and developing contemporary content or shaping social output to maximize reach and engagement.
A day in the life...
- Develop and execute a content strategy that enhances Zopa’s SEO rankings and positions zopa.com as the definitive source for anything Zopa-related
- Work closely with product marketing, PR, copy and growth teams to ensure Zopa’s key narratives are embedded in high-quality content across our website and app, including push and email
- Use keyword research and content gap analysis to identify opportunities to improve rankings and drive traffic around relevant user intent
- Build and scale a product comparison approach, ensuring customers can easily understand the comparative value of Zopa’s products to competitors
- Own Zopa’s organic social presence across Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn. You’ll be working with content creators across these emerging platforms to bring your strategy to life
- Create, curate, and manage high-quality social content that aligns with Zopa’s tone of voice, brand proposition, and product priorities
- Build an organic creative testing pipeline, experimenting with different content types (e.g. videos, carousels, threads) to identify what resonates
- Collaborate with digital marketing to boost high-performing organic, further leverage earned content and scale winning creative in paid campaigns
- Support a shared PR plan and amplify positive mentions of Zopa from third-party press, authority websites (e.g., MoneySavingExpert, Which?), and users
- Monitor conversations, trends, and sentiment around Zopa to engage with users and enhance our brand perception
- Define and track KPIs for content and social performance metrics (e.g. organic traffic, engagement, referral traffic, keyword rankings, domain authority) and continuously optimize
About you...
- Proven experience in content strategy and social media in a growth-oriented tech company (Experience in fintech or financial services is preferable but not essential!)
- Strong ability to create high-impact content that performs well in both search and social
- Creative and strategic thinker, with a test-and-learn mindset
- Proven experience of social media best practices, engagement tactics, growth strategies. and viral content trends
- Demonstrate strong SEO knowledge and an ability to work with technical SEO and web engineers
- Continuously test, learn, and refine content formats, SEO tactics, and social approaches based on data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, PR, and engineering teams
