Role Overview:

As McAfee continues to evolve into a consumer-centric business, it is looking to mature and elevate its Product & Design organization into a strategic, proactive, and customer-obsessed arm of the business. As a Subscription Payments Product Manager, you will be responsible for the development, optimization, and management of subscription payment products and services offered by McAfee. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, sales, and finance to ensure that subscription payment solutions meet the needs of both the company and its customers. Your goal will be to drive the strategic direction of subscription payment products, optimize their performance, and ensure their successful implementation and adoption in the market.
This is a San Francisco Bay Area-based position, with expectations to collaborate with the team in the San Jose office 1-3 days per week. We are not offering relocation assistance now.

About the role: 

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for subscription payment products in alignment with company goals and market trends. Articulate product vision and strategy to build best-in-class payments and fraud detection platforms. 

  • Commerce Payments: Lead Commerce Payments, Billing, and Fraud Strategy in global markets, delivering significant additional annual recurring revenue. 

  • Payment Optimizations: Drive end-to-end optimizations for subscription payments processing, including enhancing transaction routing, implementing dynamic retry logic, to improve authorization rates.  

  • Payment Processing: Engage Payment processors, card schemes, and issuers to optimize payment processing, resolve decline codes, and ensure high success rates for recurring payments. 

  • Product Development: Work closely with engineering and design teams to define product features, user experience, and technical requirements for subscription payment solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for new subscription payment products or enhancements to existing ones. 

  • A/B testing: Lead A/B testing initiatives on the recurring payments platform to optimize payment success rates, identify key drivers of customer behavior, and drive improvements in authorization rates and fraud reduction strategies. 

  • Performance Tracking: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of subscription payment products and use data-driven insights to optimize their performance. 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the subscription payment industry and ensure that subscription payment products adhere to these standards. 

 

About you: 

  • 8+ years of experience in product management. You have a deep understanding of subscription-based payment systems and extensive experience working with recurring billing platforms. 

  • You are highly skilled in payment optimization strategies, including transaction routing, dynamic retry logic, and reducing payment declines through data-driven solutions. 

  • You possess a strong background in collaborating with payment gateways, acquirers, and issuers to improve authorization rates and minimize involuntary churn. 

  • You excel at using data analytics to identify patterns, resolve issues, and implement continuous improvements in payment success. 

  • You are detail-oriented, results-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on enhancing customer experience while ensuring compliance with payment regulations and security standards. 

  • Strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, influencing both technical and business stakeholders.  

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the subscription payment industry
