As a Global Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for driving cost savings and supporting business goals for all internal indirect and direct commodities within the Lumentum Sagamihara, Japan site.  This includes but is not limited to Materials, Equipment, Chemicals and Gases, Facilities, Construction, Outsourcing, Professional Services, R&D, MRO,

You will be a working manager that also leads a Sourcing and Procurement team made up of three (3) team members that perform sourcing and buying activities for both the Indirect and Direct categories.

You will be skilled in the negotiation of contract terms and conditions and contract development.

You will align with internal business partners at all levels to develop and deliver category strategies and lead sourcing engagements to meet desired business unit and company objectives

You will manage, lead and develop the team to achieve company goals, develop individual goals and enhance skills 

You will select, evaluate and manage suppliers to achieve business objectives

You will generate RFQ/RFPs to suppliers to drive organization program and budget needs

You will build strong supplier and internal partnerships

You will lead projects with high visibility and risk to business

Required Qualifications:

Fluent in both Japanese and English

10 years’ experience working in both Indirect and Direct Sourcing required

Expert level of contract and cost negotiations experience required

Expert level of understanding of Professional Services Agreement business clauses required

Expert level of creating SOWs for Services Agreements including services and contractors required

Experience sourcing and contracting for Materials, Chemicals and Gases, Equipment, Facilities, Construction, Professional Services, and overseeing outsourced services.

Experience building relationships with a variety of cross functional colleagues and Executives

Strategic business process leadership, innovative, results oriented

Sourcing skills including identifying sourcing opportunities, performing spend analysis, development of sourcing strategies, project management, development of RFX documents, contract management, supplier bench marking, contract compliance

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to communicate with senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution is highly preferred

Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks.

SAP Ariba tools experience preferred

Oracle Supply Chain experience or similar preferred

Bachelors degree in business management, supply chain or related field
