Job Description
Overview:
Under direction from the GIS Director, the GIS Analyst will be responsible to create, maintain, and analyze geospatial data for Wonderful Citrus, support existing GIS functions, and identify and provide geospatial solutions. The Analyst will also perform duties as a sUAS (commercial drone) pilot in the collection of imagery.
Here's what you'll do:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the mapping and maintenance of spatial and non-spatial data for almost 100,000 acres of citrus and related assets. Other responsibilities are as follows:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The collection, development, and maintenance of geospatial data using ArcGIS software, GPS tools, drones, and other applicable tools.
- Map creation, development and distribution
- Analysis of geospatial data; including government jurisdictions, legal property boundaries, ranch infrastructure, hydrologic systems, soils, and remotely sensed imagery.
- Performing GIS analysis and generating reports relative to current, historic and proposed farming practices, land development, administrative organization, supply chain and resource planning.
- Communicating and interacting with GIS practitioners at other Wonderful companies, public agencies, and private companies.
- Regular travel to company sites which may include California Farming offices, Texas offices, Mexico Offices.
Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- BA/BS in GIS, Computer Science, Agriculture, Geography, or related field. A GIS certificate from an accredited program may be paired with an AA degree or unrelated BA/BS degree to meet educational qualifications.
- Relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education
- Two (2) years of related work experience
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Field Maps. (Required)
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, and database management systems. (Preferred)
- FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) or ability to get certified (Required)
- Functional capabilities in a programming or scripting language (Python, ArcPy or similar) related to GIS applications. (Preferred)
- Experience using Power BI to visualize data and create reports (Preferred)
- Familiarity with agriculture and agribusiness practices (Desirable)
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in all areas within the company
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small groups
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, tasks and projects
- Possession of a valid California driver's license in good standing required
Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience
