- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in General Accounting.
- At least 2 years of specialized experience with Mexican Fixed Assets accounting and regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Proven experience in accounting and financial reconciliation processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (intermediate to advanced proficiency is required).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements by gathering, verifying, and analyzing data from the general ledger system and various departments.
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes including invoice entry, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing activities.
- Record and update all fixed asset transactions in the accounting system, including acquisitions, transfers, retirements, and adjustments, while ensuring proper depreciation schedules are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations regarding depreciation and asset write-offs for Mexican Fixed Assets.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks such as monthly accounting, GST/HST reporting, payroll processing, and related reconciliations.
- Develop and analyze financial reports through advanced spreadsheet functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Maintain and update general ledger entries, manage records, and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation and completion of financial statements and tax returns for compilation engagements in compliance with Mexican tax laws.
- Evaluate internal accounting processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend procedural improvements for enhanced accuracy and workflow.
- Support the monthly or quarterly financial close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
