CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within NASA, NOAA, and the NNSA, while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.
Within the CSG, the Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight. We are looking for a Gateway Deputy Verification and Validation (V&V) Lead for Configuration Execution, Senior Program Engineer (Senior Project Engineer- Technical Project Management). Gateway will be assembled in a series of missions to lunar orbit. Each intermediate configuration will be verified and validated before launch. The primary function of this position is to be assigned a specific configuration, and be responsible to lead V&V activities from initial planning, through Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR).
Work Model
This is a full-time position based at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3-4 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a team to plan, manage, and execute verification and validation activities for the Gateway vehicle. Activities include pre-flight testing in Program laboratories, verification by analysis, validation events, launch site testing and integration.
  • Coordinating with multi-discipline teams and system managers to ensure correctness and completeness of V and V activities.
  • Coordinating with Gateway Program stakeholders, including Safety and Mission Assurance, Human Health and Performance, and Flight Operations teams to ensure the Gateway configuration will meet stakeholders needs.
  • Collaborating with Gateway Module Project offices, to ensure allocated requirements are met and can be integrated together to meet Program stakeholder needs.
  • Managing execution plans and schedules and provide timely status to V and V Office and to Gateway Program management.


What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer- Technical Project Management
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or another related STEM discipline
  • At least 12 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment with NASA Programs, preferably Human Space Flight.
  • Demonstrable expertise/experience integrating V&V across multiple offices, vendors, and programmatic stakeholders
  • Superior analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication to express concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
  • Proven expertise and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and provide direction on competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically/internationally approx. 10%
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Master's degree in science, engineering, or mathematics, and/or advanced education/training in specialized areas of Vehicle Systems Integration
  • 18 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment with NASA Programs, preferably Human Space Flight.
  • Deep knowledge of NASA V&V processes
  • Demonstrated experience with collaborations supporting multiple programs
