We are seeking a Game QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, performance, and overall quality of our games. You will work closely with developers, designers, and other QA team members to identify issues, automate testing processes, and help optimize our QA workflow.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in testing methodologies, scripting, and debugging, with a passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering high-quality player experiences.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated and manual test cases for game features, mechanics, and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain test automation scripts for regression, functional, and performance testing.
  • Work closely with developers to identify, reproduce, and document bugs using bug-tracking systems like JIRA.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and developers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Participate in build validation, smoke testing, and integration testing for new features and patches.
  • Analyze logs, crashes, and performance metrics to provide detailed reports on defects.
  • Help establish best practices for test automation, QA workflows, and game testing methodologies.
  • Assist in load testing and stress testing.
  • Support continuous integration (CI) pipelines with automated tests to ensure stability in daily builds.

Qualifications 
Required

  • 5+ years of experience in game testing
  • 2+ years as QA engineering
  • Proficiency with bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla).
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C# for test automation.
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of game development processes, including agile workflows and version control systems (Git, Perforce, SVN).
  • Ability to debug issues using logs, crash reports, and debugging tools.
  • Strong understanding of game mechanics, networking, and performance optimization.
  • Experience testing across PC Platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with C++
  • Experience in automated custom game automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of network testing, server-client interactions, and online game testing methodologies.
  • Background in load testing and stress testing for multiplayer games.
  • Familiarity with performance profiling tools like Unreal Insights.
  • Understanding of accessibility testing and compliance standards as it relates to laws for each component under your jurisdiction.

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $98,000 - $137,000, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
