Job Description

Scope of Position:

To promote the success of Expeditors by directing the Company’s financial affairs, within a framework of prudent and effective controls, which enable risk to be assessed and managed through focus on Finances, Operations, People, Customers, Systems, Culture and Compliance in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Preparation and Review of Departmental P&Ls, quarterly & annual financial statements, and annual budgets.
  • Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information, tax computations.
  • Oversee all tax and financial regulatory compliance issues including the preparation and submission of information to statutory authorities.
  • Oversee Payroll, VAT, other taxes including Corporate Income Tax compliance and financial reporting.
  • Provide required information/documentation for Internal Control Evaluations and Internal/External Financial Statement Audits.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities and drive initiatives to promote efficient and cost effective operations.
  • Participate in decisions regarding financial strategy and business operations execution.
  • Provide financial and accounting expertiese and support for the regional business operations management teams.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts (sales and purchases).
  • Assist in the preperation and execution of financial policies and procedures.


Compliance:

  • Oversee internal controls over financial reporting,
  • Promote a culture of compliance with Company policies and government regulations,
  • Serve as a role model and leader in the demonstration of ethical business practices and conduct.
  • Proactively communicate with his/her team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.

Skills:

  • Advanced in Microsoft Office, including Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with an attention to the details.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to financial persons aswell as non-financial persons at all levels from Operations to Senior Management.
  • Proven leadership attitude and skills.
  • Ability to drive and lead through change.
  • Experience in compliance and internal controls.

Qualifications

Candidate requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor's or master's degree plus CPA (or equivalent)
  • Proven and strong experience as a Financial Controller
  • 15 + years of Accounting and Finance experience (prefereably in the Global Logistics Industry).
  • US GAAP experience (highly desirable).
  • Full spectrum of accounting and finance experience.
  • High level of tax and regulatory knowledge.
  • Must have a valid work permit to work in Hungary.
  • Fluent both in Hungarian and English.
