What You'll Do:
Financial reporting & Analysis:
- Responsible for period end accounting for multiple companies, including preparation and reviewing of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements for Media entities (May include UK, Netherlands or South Africa)
- Contribute in achieving controllership goals & objectives, with specific reference to Internal controls & SOX compliance
- Participate & assist with the annual audit
- Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly and yearly reporting & tax packs
- Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecasts and quarterly withholding tax schedules
- Assist with quarterly Embedded derivative calculations
Management Accounting:
- Responsible for period end accounting
- Responsible for quarterly financial planning and analysis for overhead costs in Media entities
- Ad-hoc project work as required within Media companies including but not limited to analysis of media contracts, assisting with accounting queries and undertaking other administrative duties.
- Point of contact for the offshore shared service team (WNS)
Other:
- You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.
Unusual Challenges or Circumstances
- May be required to work additional hours as necessary (especially during reporting deadlines)
Key Results Areas
- The timely preparation and submission of statutory and group reporting requirements
- Compliance with official guidelines and regulatory requirements
You Have These:
- Qualified Accountant– ACA / ACCA or equivalent
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102/101) or IFRS/US GAAP
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Confident and flexible team player with the ability to work with peers across the organization
- Must be able to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and determine priorities.
- Must be able to work on own initiative to identify problem areas and work through to a satisfactory conclusion
- Good Excel skills
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work calmly under pressure and work as part of a team to achieve results
- Proactive and self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; and
- A “finisher” with the genuine drive and commitment to deliver against objectives at all times
- A strong interest in Sports
We'd Also Love If You Have These:
- Proven 1yr+ experience as a Financial Accountant or other similar position
- Hands on experience of working within the media or sports rights industry
- Experience of working in a worldwide group
- Experience in using SAP accounting system
- Experience in using OneSource financial reporting system
- A strong interest in Media
