Reporting to the General Manager Crisis Management and Protective Security you will be responsible for providing crisis management guidance and functions to the Commonwealth Bank and Bankwest, while also supporting ASB and international locations. Your primary focus will be on managing disruptive events within the protocols and framework of the Crisis Management Program.
The role
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement with Group and Business Unit stakeholders to support the delivery of effective crisis response strategies.
- Crisis Exercises: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, plan, and execute comprehensive crisis exercises in accordance with the Group Crisis Exercise program.
- Framework Development: Support the Crisis Management Program Lead in the development and enhancement of supporting frameworks, plans, tools, and templates.
- Insights and Reporting: Provide detailed insights and reporting on gaps, issues, and compliance performance. Identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions to enhance crisis management capabilities.
- Program Effectiveness: Ensure that Group responses are effective, meet regulatory requirements, and support customers as well as internal technology, business, and communications teams.
- Leadership: This role includes leadership responsibilities, requiring the ability to guide and mentor team members, foster a collaborative team environment, and drive the successful implementation of crisis management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Response Process Alignment: Ensure alignment of response processes with relevant Business and Support Units, including but not limited to technology, cyber, communications, people, and regulatory teams.
- Plan Maintenance and Improvement: Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Group-level plans, such as Pandemic, Natural Disaster, and Major Outage Plans.
- Mass Communications Support: Maintain Group mass communications capabilities via software tools to ensure effective communication during crises.
- Operational Response Leadership: Lead or support operational-level responses that impact our people, customers, reputation, or operations.
- After Action Reporting: Conduct after-action reports to identify and drive improvement actions, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future responses.
- Code of Conduct Adherence: Adhere to the Code of Conduct, which sets the standards of behaviour, actions, and decisions expected from our people.
We're interested in hearing from you if you have:
- Practical experience in crisis management programs and teams within large organisations, including the direct involvement in response events
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills across complex issues and diverse business functions
- Excellent communication and information management skills with the ability to take complex information and communicate a clear and concise message
- A strong customer focus
- Understanding of technical or cyber response requirements
- Experience in Risk Management, incident response or program management (of benefit but not essential)
