Job Description:

The Airlines and Cruise Lines team is looking for an experienced team member to be based in New York to help cover a dynamic section of the travel industry. The ideal candidate will have between 1 to 3 years of work experience in either equity research, investment banking, accounting, or a buy side role. Specific airline or cruise line experience is not needed. The team works closely together, and the candidate will work directly with the Senior Analyst and have exposure to all aspects of equity research including idea generation, maintaining a deep set of industry databases, financial modeling, attending company meetings, and client outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling and valuation work
  • Maintain a deep set of industry databases including airline network schedules, air fare pricing, Department of Transportation data, and global cruise ships in operation
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay key news headlines and research findings to the Senior Analyst
  • Write regular industry and company reports
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
  • Work with Senior Analyst to develop key industry and company themes
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
  • Seek out new and different sources of information
  • A solid understanding of the fundamentals and industry will allow for regular interaction with clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Min 1-3 years of work experience in either equity research, investment banking, accounting, or a buy side role
  • Must have an interest in the public markets and regularly follow the stock market
  • Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment
  • Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • An understanding of finance and accounting is preferred and should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and policy/politics
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment

Pay and benefits information

Pay range$70,000.00 - $115,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
