Maxar Space is currently seeking Engineering Project Manager for the RF Test Group to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Radio Frequency (RF) test projects, including test planning, execution, and on-time deliverables to meet spacecraft assembly, integration, and test (AIT) needs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong team leadership skills who is interested in helping the team develop, lead and maintain best schedule & project management practices in uncharted territory. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, communicate well, influence effectively, and be comfortable in a highly fluid/ambiguous environment striving for excellence with high integrity. The ideal candidate will have strong project management background and has a passion for satellite & space designs, manufacture and test with a strong curiosity to grow from continuous learning. Success includes the following:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage spacecraft assembly, integration, and test (AIT) test projects, ensuring project deliverables are delivered with highest quality within scope, time, budget, and culture of accountability
- Tracks test facility needs and test equipment calibrations
- Collaborate effectively across multiple functional organization interfaces in test planning and coordinate resource allocation
- Lead a team of RF engineers, providing guidance and ensuring team adheres to test protocol and timelines.
- Develops new engineering & project management processes as needed to meet mission needs
- Proactive risk identification and timely decision making
- Issue resolution & effective prioritization to ensure on-time hardware & software deliverables while providing clear, traceable requirements flow-down
- Leverage problem solving skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- BS degree in an engineering discipline. Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A master's degree can be counted as two additional years of professional experience
- 5 years of professional experience
- Ability to lead AIT projects, manage timelines, and coordinate resources to meet project milestones in a space system engineering environment
- Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong skills in facilitation, issue resolution and decision making across functions in a highly complex & ambiguous environment
- Positive, collaborative, can-do approach to leadership
- Strong interpersonal savvy which enables candidate to quickly build leadership credibility with team members with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, to identify opportunities to align assignments to individual interests facilitating personal growth for team members when possible, and to advocate for team members' interests when they align with project success
- Strong Listening ability: able to hear what is said, understand, communicate, and engage
- Able to Influence others: decision-making, negotiation, persuasion, problem-solving, and trust/credibility building
- Must be comfortable interacting with senior leadership, program executives, & customers
- Strong Antenna technical background
- Good understanding of RF principles and test techniques, including familiarity with RF test equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex RF data to diverse audiences.
- Active US government security clearance is a plus

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $100,000.00 - $166,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
