The R&D Engineer II for Cytiva is responsible for support equipment, new products, materials, and process development.

This position is part of the R&D located in Pensacola, Florida and will be fully on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform operation management of R&D equipment and pilot facility.
  • Designs experiments to support new products, materials, and/or processes development.
  • Learn and apply DBS tools to solve problems, improve process capability, reduce variation, and eliminate waste.
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of technicians supporting assigned tasks/projects.
  • Characterize materials properties using various analytical techniques

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field (MS or BS degree in engineering or other relevant field with 3-5 years of experience in operations and lean manufacturing).
  • Independent, good judgment, positive attitude, and an innovative spirit.
  • Ability to organize lab area maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to work safely and to align with the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding of polymeric membrane separation process and membrane characterization
  • Working knowledge of Minitab, statistical analysis, or Design of Experiment (DOE)
