The Endpoint Management Engineer- Remote is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a modern, secure, and automated endpoint management strategy across New Era’s global workforce. Leveraging advanced tools such as Microsoft Intune, N-able N-central, and Take Control, this role ensures that Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices are efficiently enrolled, monitored, updated, and protected. In partnership with Corporate Procurement, Device Lifecycle Management, and Security teams, the engineer will drive the integration of zero-trust security principles, continuous compliance, and proactive remediation processes to support a dynamic, hybrid work environment.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

Modern Endpoint Management & Security

  • Microsoft Intune Administration:
    • Architect and manage the enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies for corporate endpoints.
    • Develop and deliver training materials to facilitate smooth user onboarding and adoption of new endpoint management practices.
    • Publish and maintain third-party applications, ensuring timely updates and compatibility with corporate policies.
    • Configure and enforce device, application, and compliance policies based on zero-trust and best-practice security frameworks.
    • Integrate volume licensing with Apple and Google to streamline device provisioning and management.
  • Enhanced Security Integration:
    • Collaborate with the Security team to onboard legacy devices to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ensuring continuous threat monitoring and response.
    • Implement and test security hardening measures to meet evolving cybersecurity standards.
  • Remote Management & Support:
    • Utilize N-able N-central for proactive monitoring, automated remediation, and patch management of endpoints not enrolled in Intune.
    • Leverage Take Control to provide swift remote support and troubleshooting for end-user issues, acting as an escalation point for complex problems.
  • Software Updating & Patch Management:
    • Oversee the approval and deployment of Microsoft Updates, as well as third-party patches across all managed devices.
    • Automate patch compliance reporting to ensure consistent security posture and operational integrity.
  • Device Provisioning & Lifecycle Management:
    • Manage new PC onboardings through Microsoft Autopilot and SCCM, including the creation of customized OS installation media with preloaded drivers and applications.
    • Assist with remote deployment of devices for remote or hybrid workforce scenarios, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
  • Mobile & Cellular Integration:
    • Work with business units and cellular providers to transition legacy mobile plans into corporate accounts and integrate mobile device enrollment with the purchasing process.

COMPETENCY:

  • Cloud & Mobile Device Management: Advanced expertise with Microsoft Intune or comparable cloud-based MDM solutions.
  • Security-First Mindset: Deep understanding of zero-trust frameworks, endpoint security, and proactive threat remediation.
  • Remote Monitoring & Automation: Proven skills using N-able N-central (or equivalent RMM solutions) and Take Control for automated monitoring, patching, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Systems & Identity Management: Solid experience with Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), and managing user access and group policies.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Excellent evidence-based troubleshooting skills across diverse platforms and environments.
  • Organizational & Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects, document processes, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in endpoint or device management within a modern, hybrid enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record of deploying and managing multi-platform endpoints (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) in a global setting.
  • Experience with automated patch management, remote support tools, and modern OS deployment strategies is essential.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to travel to various company locations as needed.
  • Regularly spend extended periods sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • Frequent transitions between sitting and standing positions.
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to operate devices and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, required work hours may vary depending on business needs.

TRAVEL: Up to 10% travel may be required to domestic (NJ, NY, MA, PA, IN, FL) or international offices (United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand), depending on project needs
