EMEA Regional Tax Manager
Job Description Summary
The ideal candidate will be a tax manager that will provide regional corporate income reporting and quarterly/annual US GAAP and IFRS reporting. The candidate will work in close collaboration with regional/country contacts on tax audits and prepare tax estimates, prepare tax true-ups and calculate estimated cash taxes. The successful candidate will be resilient and able to clearly articulate through written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate across functions and within tax. The candidate will report to the EMEA Head of Tax and support the EMEA Head of Tax on transaction projects as needed.
Job Description
You will have regional responsibility to:
- Focus on Spain, Italy and, Portugal tax reporting and compliance with potential for additional countries
- Work collaboratively with regional/country controllers, FP&A and the regional CFO, to effectively report statutory accounts and quarterly and yearend tax provisions, including true-ups and tax account reconciliations.
- Accountability for filing corporate income tax compliance and quarterly reporting within the region, timely.
- Identify and implement best practices to reduce audit risk.
- Manage regional tax authority inquiries/audits.
- Identify and work directly on regional work such as withholding tax, registrations, tax clearances, governance needs, etc.
- Project manage external tax advisors, where work is outsourced and identify and begin insourcing of reporting (provision and tax returns) to effectuate cost savings.
- Remain updated on tax laws and share updates with relevant stakeholders.
- Although this role will have no direct reports, you will have responsibility to develop your peers understanding of regional tax and business issues including EMEA, VAT and Global peers within and without tax and mentor more junior members of the Global tax team.
- Support the EMEA Head of Tax on regional tax advisory work, including legal entity rationalization.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- 5+ years of tax experience with either a public accounting firm and corporate experience
- Be Tax or Accountancy qualified
- Strong knowledge of EMEA income taxation of corporate transactions with a speciality in Spain, Italy and Portugal
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience and working knowledge with OneSource tax technology
- Strong business partnering skills to ensure tax is considered early in decision making.
- Proactive, self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to quickly understand and integrate business objectives and communicate regional tax requirements
- Ability to prioritize to ensure goals are achieved
- Proven track record in providing commercially focused tax advice within region
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in Spanish and English
