Job Summary: The Director of Project Management will oversee multiple Master Data Management (MDM) projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and external partners, to ensure seamless project execution. The Director will manage project risks and issues, implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables, and provide regular updates to senior management on project status, key milestones, and potential roadblocks. Additionally, the Director will ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in MDM and develop an awareness of IQVIA technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IQVIA MDM projects and programs from initiation to delivery, including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control processes, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and assist with project activities through all project phases; allocate, obtain, and manage resources and project management tools to achieve project objectives; create and implement assessment processes to enforce timely completion of programs in accordance with established standards and requirements.
- Utilize a background in technical project/program management, including using the Agile development framework, to complete overall process improvement and project management responsibilities.
- Assist in defining project vision and strategy for implementation that links the organization and company goals and strategies; incorporate best practices into the strategy.
- Create roadmaps and define standards (e.g., delivery methodology, operational structure and norms, roles and responsibilities, compliance).
- Identify risks to project success and create mitigation plans; define metrics for project success across IQVIA.
- Support portfolio prioritization and budget forecasting.
- Administer projects, manage project operating costs, and mentor other team members.
- Identify and establish partnerships with management-level stakeholders to build support, consensus, and alignment on implementation.
- Lead change management by identifying impacts of the project, building awareness and support for change within the organization, and contributing to the development of training.
- Evaluate project progress and results against project objectives; create or reengineer processes, resources, and/or structures to improve productivity and overall project outcomes.
- Gain subject matter expertise to effectively manage MDM projects by understanding processes and challenges typical for MDM initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects, juggle priorities, and deliver on tight deadlines.
- Exhibit excellent presentation and communication skills.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in managing large, global projects with multiple streams.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Smartsheet or MS Project.
- Experience with agile scrum development, including understanding its pitfalls.
- Proficiency in using JIRA and Confluence.
- Knowledge of MDM principles and practices.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong persuasive abilities to influence stakeholders.
