Job Description
The Director, Opinion Leader Programming will be responsible for supporting Opinion Leader Programming for the US HIV Marketing team across both Treatment and Prevention.
The Director will be a key contributor on the OLP Marketing team responsible for supporting the HIV franchise for Treatment and Prevention. They will lead advisory boards, lead Prevention speaker content and support speaker bureaus and KOL engagement. They will be responsible for management of key agency partnerships. The Director will play a role in the execution of a potential launch for the prevention of HIV. The Director will partner closely across marketing functions within the HIV business unit (HIV Treatment, Prevention and Franchise) along with various cross functional stakeholders (Legal, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing Operations and the Field) and external vendors to implement strategy and tactics aligned to established business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Job Functions

Leads advisory boards for both Prevention and Treatment with some support from other team members

Supports development of the HIV prevention speaker bureau content, including branded and unbranded materials

Participates in speaker bureau training and communications, including leading workshops

Participates in OL engagement strategy as part of the team

Understands brands’ strategic plans and incorporates into all deliverables

Monitors the complete HIV Landscape seeking out key insights and areas of opportunity to support ongoing marketing efforts

Collaborates closely with HIV Treatment and Prevention teams to ensure broad communication of advisor insights and alignment on marketing direction and coordinated efforts for the success of the full HIV Business Unit

Works cross functionally to ensure scientifically accurate and compelling presentations

Manages and provides direction to key agency partners to deliver on key strategic and tactical initiatives

Manages promotional budget for assigned efforts

Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies

Exceptionally strong interpersonal, verbal communication (listens carefully to others points-of-view, adapts style and content based on audience), and writing skills, including the ability to simplify complex scientific topics through storytelling

Must be comfortable with sensitive topics within HIV market

Ability to travel up to 30%, domestically and once safe to do so to conferences, advisory boards, team meetings and agency meetings
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
OR
PhD and Eight Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:

10 years of experience in Marketing or Medical Affairs within Pharma/Biotech with a BA/BS OR 8 years of experience in Marketing or Medical Affairs within Pharma/Biotech with a MA/MS OR 4 years of experience in Marketing or Medical Affairs within Pharma/Biotech with a PhD
-
HIV Therapeutic Area knowledge strongly preferred
-
5 + years of brand development and marketing preferred OR 5+ years experience in Medical Affairs including advisory boards and HCP education
-
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in marketing, science or related fields preferred
-
Proven track record of marketing fundamentals, including advisory boards, brand plan development and execution, strategy and sales and commercial programs preferred
The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
