The Opportunity
The Global Compensation Director leads the design, development, implementation, and delivery of base, incentive, recognition, retention and other components of effective compensation programs.
In partnership with Talent Management, owns the career framework, including governance, revisions and updates in support of Danaher businesses.
In addition, the candidate will lead communication, messaging, and training related to compensation programs, and work closely with other members of the Total Rewards teams to develop attractive and retentive total reward packages for Danaher associates.
The candidate will report to the Danaher Vice President, Total Rewards and HR M&A, and works closely with Senior HR Leadership across Danaher platforms. Key partnerships also include Legal and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as total rewards thought leader for Danaher, contributing to total rewards strategy and providing guidance to OpCo rewards, HR, and business leadership on compensation policies, programs and actions. Specific areas of accountability include:
- Manage the Corporate Compensation team, providing leadership and guidance for project planning, leadership approvals, and change management.
- Lead a team of direct and indirect teams regarding processes related to annual compensation planning, incentive, and equity compensation programs using Workday and other analytic tools
- Create strategies regarding market benchmarking, including survey approach, validation, and spend. Maintain relationships with the Company’s external partners supporting compensation data requirements
- Partner across Danaher develop and implement effective communication strategies, ensuring that compensation programs are fully understood and appropriately valued by leaders and associates.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for compensation related matters, such as FLSA and pay legislation, and adherence to plan provisions and compensation policies.
- Partner closely with the talent organization to ensure compensation and performance management and talent processes are optimally linked.
- Serve as a key resource for the HR M&A team, including supporting diligence and post-signing integration planning and execution for compensation related items
- Lead the establishment of KPIs and scorecards for compensation related activities. Develops and analyzes reports and analytics that will provide actionable insights into compensation current state and trends
- Develops process excellence via Danaher Business System tools/processes and guides OpCo Rewards leaders on the application of DBS tools/processes. Leverage these processes and tools to streamline compensation related activities.

Qualifications and Experience
- BA/BS in related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in global compensation and benefits with an emphasis on creating, developing and managing global rewards programs that facilitate business results.
- Experience leading a compensation/rewards function in a corporate environment; experience in professional services/consulting a plus.
- Deep working knowledge of salary structure design, base pay administration, job evaluation, variable pay, and equity/long-term incentive compensation.
- Advanced knowledge of job evaluation methodologies, salary structure design, and merit planning design and implementation.
- Experience with M&A due diligence and integration preferred.
The salary range for this role is $200,000 to 240,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
