The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for coordinating and driving the execution of the planning framework at Lightcast, including budgeting, forecasting, and business case development. This role includes creating board and investor materials, integrating acquisitions, and developing models for the annual budget and strategic initiatives. The position also involves close collaboration with the Revenue Operations (RevOps) and business leaders to provide meaningful financial analysis and reporting to inform and guide decision-making.
The Director of FP&A will be a strategic thinker, hands-on utility player, and key partner in driving operational efficiency. They will support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and report to the VP of FP&A.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine driver-based long-range strategic planning models including engagement with business leaders to identify opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency gains, and revenue growth
- Lead the development and monitoring of key operational metrics and dashboards
- Support product modeling - time to build new capability, buy or partner
- Assist in building company profile presentation for investors
- Drive acquisition diligence, integration planning and investment modelling
- Coordinate preparing materials for monthly financial reviews, quarterly board meetings, strategy meetings and other executive-level presentations
- Statistical insights requiring regression analysis including churn predictor, pricing
- Lead the development and tracking of project management KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting and effective execution of strategic initiatives
- Support business case modeling and P&L by business line
- Partner closely with RevOps and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial planning and revenue operations
- Perform analyses by processing large amounts of operational and business transactions, reconcile against multiple data sources, and recognize trends, while being creative in finding new ways to interpret data
- Provide deep analysis of business performance, identifying trends, variances, and actionable insights
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of Investment Banking experience, including roles involving modelling, presentation development, M&A, statistical analysis and business partnering
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus
- Advanced analytical, reporting and presentation skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace (G Suite)
- Expertise in financial modeling, business case development, and KPI reporting frameworks
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders, including senior management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to business partnering
- Proficiency in creating board-level presentations and financial reporting packages
- Familiarity with SaaS, DaaS, and subscription-based business models preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and collaboration across teams
