Role Purpose

Responsible to lead and oversees all aspects of Quality at the Mexico and Colombia region.  Drive improvement to key quality indicators, this includes the assurance of customer, product quality, process, supplier, and quality operating system. Make quick, sound decisions regarding quality issues with a customer focused mindset.  Organize and prioritize Quality strategy within the organization including manufacturing plants. Lead communication of quality performance, investigations, and corrective actions. Direct/mentor the quality team function within the organization.  

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive Customer Satisfaction KPI and Quality metrics attainment through process capability and control verification, quality system conformance actions and continuous improvement roadmaps towards OEM and internal customer scorecard objectives and customer perception through Quality basics execution.
  • Customer Champion driving strategy to improve Clarios Quality Customer performance from all aspects including product outgoing quality, quality systems (PPAP, IATF, CSR’s) and Warranty
  • Oversight and drive improvement to Product performance (electrical compliance) from New launches to mass production (on going testing, annual compliance and field warranty).
  • Ensure full APQP process adherence including PFMEA, control plans, RPN Reduction, MSA study & robust PPAP encompassing customer specific requirements on product, process and system
  • Develop plan to reach Process Capability on key process/product characteristics and improvement actions that will help meet scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and Improve effective Quality Management Systems across the Region
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the quality system based on IATF & Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Is responsible for creating a culture of excellence in quality within the organization
  • Drive adherence and follow-up on Internal Audits for conformance to quality system basics.
  • Lead communication of Quality performance within the organization focus on values and behaviors.
  • Lead Robust problem-solving Culture in the organization (8D/error proofing, containment actions, root cause analysis, corrective action plan – implementation and verification)
  • Coordinate action plan (roll out) all across the region
  • Develop and Coach Quality Organization including Plant Quality teams focus on development plant and increase battery IQ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field.
  • 10+ years of QA management experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive highly preferred, manage OEM Customers.
  • 5+ yrs. in a Management position of Quality;
  • IATF, VDA experience required
  • Proven experience with managing launches, has led transformation projects from poor performance to meeting customer expectations, strengthened the bench strength of the organization.
  • Has good understanding of Customer specific requirements including OEM audits, problem resolution, change management, OEM portals/ scorecards and ways of working expectations
  • Proven experience managing the customer, including crisis management of potential product concerns.
  • Proven experience on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing using formal quality systems methodology and tools.
  • Development and implementation of quality systems and standards (FMEA’s, PPAP, control Plans, DVP&R’s, APQP);
  • Highly organized, self-starter and professional team-player with attitude to drive the execution of the actions to attain Quality targets (concerns, PPM, Cost of poor Quality, Internal and OEM audits, supplier quality and Field Performance)
  • A visible leader that champions change through teamwork, develops talent and plans for succession; and not afraid to do the Right thing despite unpopular decisions with significant time on the shop floor.
  • Preference Lead Acid Battery IQ and Process Knowledge.
