The Digital Product Owner is responsible for building, developing and managing Digital product roadmaps. This role will be tasked with understanding and executing the strategic direction of several Digital platforms and ensuring the product vision, objectives and key results are met and in so, enabling the epic sailor experience we are committed to delivering.
You will partner with technology, marketing, revenue and customer experience senior business stakeholders to align on product plans that meet our vision and prioritizes value for our customers. She or he will need to be able to influence and inspire others and will often present recommendations to peers, business unit leaders and senior leaders. Their work should be awesome and inspirational and based on customer feedback and backed by data. 

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.
 

What You'll Be Up To:

  • With a pioneering spirit, set the digital product strategy including product vision, objectives and key results for several digital products, including (but not limited to) our Chatbot and firstmates.com trade partner website 
  • Working with key business units, define and deliver on the product roadmap by prioritizing feature requirements and user stories into an agile backlog
  • Find insights and opportunities using data, primary and secondary research, market analysis, user feedback and technology trends. 
  • Use data and technology to hypothesize, test, execute and report across multiple on platform campaigns and strategies
  • Advise key stakeholders in Marketing, IT, Editorial, Sales and Executive Management on strategies to meet corporate objectives through the use of marketing technology
  • Support deployment of new technology adoption across the enterprise
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute on roadmap 
  • Partner with Technology team to manage future requests and updates using PI, SAFe and agile methodologies 
  • Prepare compelling presentations, to communicate progress, complex concepts and other key updates to diverse audiences, including senior leadership
  • Manage and negotiate scope and budgets with vendor partners
  • Provide leadership in influencing internal processes 
  • Ensure monitoring tools are implemented on relevant systems
  • Aide in project management, hiring and on-boarding new team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Superpowers Required:

  • BA/BS degree or higher. MS degree is a plus. Knowledge and experience in the technology field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of in-depth business experience in managing software related projects/products from initiation through closure within an IT environment
  • Experience managing products under a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a must
  • Certification as an agile product owner (Certified SCRUM Product Owner - CSPO) or product
  • manager SAFe® Product Owner / Product Manager - POPM is preferred
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Functional business analysis background a plus. 
  • Manage a portfolio of products and associated applications with a high degree of complexity
  • Owner of features, acceptance criteria and priorities for different products in the solution. Coordinate with development teams and partners for the implementation of the solution or product.
  • Experience managing internal resources, agencies and digital products in client or agencies
  • Understanding of with web analytics, testing tools, digital processes
  • Strong business judgment, strategic thinking and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives
  • Understanding of online marketing principles, including but not limited to conversion optimization, cross- and upsell, audience segmentation, A/B testing, merchandising, etc.
  • Proven track record of leading and successful implementation of multiple digital projects in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Experience working with internal and external creative and technology teams 
  • Ability to work independently and build consensus within a cross-departmental team
  • Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge in user experience and design principles. Knowledge of Jira/Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet or other agile project management tools 
  • Knowledge of standard eCommerce software and platforms (Monetate, Adobe Test and Target) and creative tools (inVision, Sketch, Zeplin, Principle) a plus
  • Knowledge of Chatbot and marketing tools (Magnolia CMS, Salesforce, Airtable) a plus
