Job Description

Are you a Digital Forensics or computer science student looking for an internship opportunity this summer? If so, Envista Forensics is currently seeking highly motivated students for summer internships. This internship opportunity aims to collaborate with the right candidate to provide an introduction to the world of digital forensics. You will experience all facets of forensic consulting, including, but not limited to, technical research, report writing, site inspections, and milestone projects. You will receive hands-on experience, coaching, and mentorship provided by the team leads and work daily with team members on a vast array of projects and case types. This paid internship program is from May 2025 to August 2025. Envista offers successful interns the potential to transition into a full-time job post-graduation.

As a Digital Forensic Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital forensics, working closely with our experienced team of forensic analysts, examiners, and team leaders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills in conducting digital investigations and analyzing electronic evidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Willing to work in the Raleigh, North Carolina Digital Forensics lab
  • Potential for limited travel
  • Aid in conducting forensic investigations by collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, and network logs, directly contributing to real-world cases.”
  • Learn and utilize forensic tools and techniques to extract, analyze, and interpret data in support of investigations.
  • Document findings and prepare clear, concise reports detailing investigative processes and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing investigations and contribute to the development of new forensic methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, forensic tools, and technologies through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Practical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile operating systems, and file systems.
  • Basic knowledge of the forensic process and methodologies.
  • Strong interest in digital forensics and a desire to pursue a career in this field.
  • Knowledge of Database Structure and Querying Techniques focusing on applying Python for scripting, data analysis, and automation.
