The Digital Modernization Sector has an exciting career opportunity for an Infrastructure Team Lead to support the USAF Defensive Cyber Systems Program Management Office’s Infrastructure Section at Joint Base San Antonio. This role is integral to overseeing the Systems Integration Lab (SIL), Service Desk, Cloud Services, Platform System Security, CI/CD Pipelines, and facilities, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of critical infrastructure components.
On-Site Requirement:
The position requires on-site presence at Joint Base San Antonio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Software Development Teams: Directly supervise, manage and lead software development teams in the implementation of DevSecOps practices, ensuring collaboration and communication across teams. Provide direct supervision to approximately 10 Leidos employees. Provide management to approximately 20 subcontractors on our team.
- Implement DevSecOps Best Practices: Drive the adoption of DevSecOps best practices within the organization, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automation, to improve efficiency and security.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards in software development and security.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as security and operations, to integrate security practices into the development process and ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Strategic Planning and Project Management: Develop and implement strategic plans for DevSecOps initiatives, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Promote a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the development teams, fostering innovation and efficiency.
- Ensure Compliance and Security: Ensure that all software development activities comply with relevant regulations and security standards, and implement measures to protect against security threats.
- Provide Mentorship and Training: Provide mentorship and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in DevSecOps practices.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in DevSecOps and software development, and apply them to improve processes and technologies within the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related IT field, or management, with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship required with an active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
- Minimum 3+ years supervising software development.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps processes to manage software dev, software test, information assurance, technical writing, and configuration management teams to orchestrate multiple functional areas towards integrated capability delivery.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration as code (CaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Strong background in security concepts, practices, and tools, with experience integrating security into DevOps pipelines.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project management and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF) and the DoD DevSecOps Reference Design.
- Familiarity with Continuous ATO (Authority to Operate) processes, especially with Platform One or other DoD-approved DevSecOps platforms.
- Knowledge of federal compliance requirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs).
- Excellent verbal and written skills to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Strong ability to lead and mentor technical teams, with a focus on collaborative development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in strategic planning, project management, and resource allocation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud services from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with advanced logging, monitoring, and observability tools (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure application and infrastructure security
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices and best practices.
- Experience deploying applications in secure, containerized environments, and managing hybrid deployments across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Certification: Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+).

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
