The Role
The primary focus for this role is to be a key and influential member of our team. You will be a member of a Chapter which includes DevOps Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering & DevSecOps Engineering. You will be responsible for the Continuous Improvement over our cloud and on-premises platforms. We look for opportunities to do things smarter, cheaper, quicker, and ensuring everything we do can be re-used across the squads.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the pipelines for publishing code to Azure
- As part of your team drive the DevOps principles, design & security patterns and DevOps culture
- Create and maintain Azure infrastructure across all environments using Infrastructure as code
- Propose and implement time-saving initiatives
- Create and maintain monitoring at all levels (infrastructure, app, data)
- Monitor issues and availability and ensure the correct escalation path is followed
- Monitor performance and propose improvements
- Implement auto-scaling of resources to meet the needs of the moment
- Collaborate with all DevOps team members
- Help to commoditise cloud services where possible
- Identify engineering limits, bottlenecks and tipping points before they’re reached
Person Specification
Mandatory skillset:
- Experience of working as an engineer, working on solutions in Azure or hybrid cloud. Preferably with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Terraform and Azure Resource Management Templates
- Experience setting up and working with Azure DevOps pipelines
- Knowledge of Cloud native, microservices, containerized systems
- To have a strong desire for continuous improvement and an Agile way of working
- Experience with C# build processes
