Job Description

We are seeking a MarTech Data Product Owner to support our Fortune 100 financial services client’s digital transformation initiatives. This role will play a vital role in support of technological advancements and product implementations across the organization.

The Data Product Owner will develop, maintain, and present the vision and roadmap for the Marketing Technology products used by all lines of business. The individual will create product visions based on a thorough understanding of direct and indirect stakeholders’ needs by working with business initiative owners and technology teams. The Data Product Owner is empowered to make fast decisions with input from leadership and other key stakeholders, while ensuring that technology teams synthesize business objectives and agile development principles to operate and expand the existing Marketing Technology platform.

The Details:

  • Location: Remote within U.S. (Chicago area preferred) 
  • Duration: Approximately until end of 2025 with possible extension

What you’ll do:

  • Interact and collaborate with stakeholders on key product considerations and align with product vision, features, and roadmaps.
  • Leverage customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmaps in partnership with other SMEs.
  • Establish KPIs and OKRs for the product team and ensure alignment with senior leadership.
  • Create and maintain key product documentation (e.g., customer journey map, technical specs, process maps, etc.).
  • Identify and define key functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics.
  • Own the definition of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and features/user stories for delivery of product roadmap.
  • Build product backlog and prioritize items to achieve OKRs while continuously keeping up to date.
  • Hold meetings with product team to continuously update product backlog.
  • Ensure that product features and processes align with applicable compliance and risk management standards.
  • Ensure that products adhere to the highest quality standards, including releasing security patches not linked to customers.
  • Create and validate user story acceptance criteria.
  • Define and ensure appropriate testing frameworks for product features (e.g., market testing, functional performance, etc.)
  • Work with Data stewards in their respective LOBs to ensure required data quality controls are identified and implemented. Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration.
  • Partner with business technology to create technical features required to continuously optimize system components and underline infrastructure maintenance.
  • Build a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the product team to make decisions. Manage dependencies with cross-functional teams while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnership across different product teams.

Qualifications

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Product, Business, Technical, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Project Management
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Product, Business, Technical, or related field
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Marketing Technology Platforms from Product, Business, Technical, or related.
  • Prior financial services experience
  • Experience with RDBMS or Data Engineering
  • Background in Customer Engagement, Campaign Management, Marketing Attribution, and Campaign Reporting
  • Proven experience in conceptualizing, defining, building, and releasing data products.
  • Highly analytical and deep focus on using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing.

    Additional Information

    The starting pay rate for this role is $60.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
