PRACTICE SPECIFICS:
CRNAs at Essentia Health - Virginia administer anesthesia to patients of all ages. We provide anesthesia services in the operating room, on obstetrics, and throughout the hospital as requested. This position requires a high level of customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
This is a rural anesthesia practice that uses a mixed medical model of providing anesthesia that includes both medically directed and independent practice opportunities. Call is covered independently with one CRNA.
• 5 OR suites in the main OR and 1 OR on the OB unit for C-sections
• Salaried 8-hour day shift plus 24-hour call
• CRNA Call Coverage
o Monday - Friday 1530-0700
o Saturday - Sunday 0700-0700
o 20-minute callback window for emergencies
A call room is provided for those that live outside the time requirement
o Call is approximately 1:6
o Flexible, self-scheduled call days
• Labor analgesia service
o Approximately 250 deliveries per year
• Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, ENT, podiatry, gastroenterology, OB/Gyn, and ophthalmology
Qualifications and Professional Development:
1. Graduate from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
2. Seeks ongoing professional educational growth
Licensure/Credentials:
1. RN license in the state of Minnesota
2. Certified by the NBCRNA
3. Maintains current licensure requirements for CRNA practice
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Knowledgeable of the principles and methods of general, regional, sedation, and local anesthetics
2. Demonstrate competency in clinical responsibilities
3. Ability to function and maintain composure in stressful and emergent situations
4. Clear, thorough, and appropriate verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with various clinical staff and other disciplines
