The Course Manager/Primary Instructor is responsible for developing, planning, executing, and managing training across Core One’s customer portfolio. The Course Manager develops, plans, and executes unique training courses specifically aligned to customer requirements, starting with customization of existing courses for specific customers. The Course Manager drives curriculum design and updates, Program of Instruction (POI) development, and training execution including management of 1099 instructors and support personnel. The Course Manager will act as Primary Instructor on most course offerings where possible, providing direction to assistant instructors. When not acting as Primary Instructor on a course, the Course Manager will be responsible for course execution, ensuring all instructors have clear direction and oversight. The Course Manager will be responsible for integration of applicable technologies to support course requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of customer technical and operational requirements; solution development and architecture; training development, execution, and management.
Responsibilities:
Training Solution and Capability Design, Planning, and Execution
- Direct, lead, and manage development and execution of complex training solutions specific to client requirements.
- Integrate novel operational capabilities from Core One programs into training products as appropriate, to stay ahead of competition.
- Build and manage comprehensive testing and evaluation processes for training products and technological capabilities in support of training.
Customer Relationship Building
- Build, maintain, and expand strategic relationships with key training customers, decision-makers, contracting officers, and program managers.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, growth, programs, and operations, to ensure alignment with overall business unit objectives.
- Develop partnerships with subcontractors, vendors, and other organizations for teaming opportunities to expand operational capabilities and training support.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the training team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment that includes continuous learning.
- Work closely with other parts of the business unit and company (e.g., executives, corporate growth team, program managers, engineering, operations) to ensure smooth contract execution, program delivery, and portfolio expansion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Certified Operations Officer (FTC/OTC/DOQC), ideally with recognized advanced certifications.
- 10+ years of experience in Intelligence Community or Special Operations, including demonstrated management experience in these communities.
- Experience with curriculum design, development, and management.
- Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for upgrade to SCI access.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including use of MS Office products
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in training execution, planning, and development.
- Experience within previous five years of problem-solving and operating within the modern UTS environment.
- Experience managing training instructors (e.g. course director or equivalent).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in Intelligence, Strategic Studies, or a related field.
- Full-scope polygraph.

Location/Travel:
- Based in Washington DC area, with primary office in Tysons Corner, VA and occasional work from Core One Headquarters in Sterling, VA, with some travel (up to 40% in surge periods) as required for out-of-area program and training delivery, client engagement, and conferences.
