THE ROLE:
 

PETRONAS Canada currently has a vacancy for a Corporate Assurance Analyst to join our team in Calgary. Reporting to the Team Lead, Assurance, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and assessment of mitigations and controls within the corporate function.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Perform control and mitigation effectiveness testing for corporate functions including, but not limited to, Finance, Digital, HR, Legal, Communications

  • Support corporate functions with creation, redesign, and streamlining of mitigations and controls

  • Responsible for the system administration of the internal assurance software, which includes submitting assurance results, creating profiles, performing quarterly user access review and other administrative functions, as required

  • Monitor and provide status updates for all outstanding corrective actions on a regular basis to ensure timely closure

  • Prepare and debrief final reports to key stakeholders over assurance results including corrective actions as well as opportunities related to continuous improvement

  • Participate in other department projects and initiatives, providing input, supporting research and information, and completing assigned tasks, deliverables and timelines

  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business activities and issues, gathering relevant information/data, facilitating assurance/testing processes and maintaining an awareness of changes and compliance requirements

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, business or related field

  • 3+ years of experience working in assurance or internal audit environments

  • CPA or CIA designation is considered an asset

  • The ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels of the organization is essential

  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency

  • A  high degree of integrity, ethics and responsibility

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
