Responsibilities:

• Work with Product Engineers on part design creation in CAD, print detailing, conduct part testing, request Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and create respective test reports.

• Work with Manufacturing Engineers learning molding methods, materials and processes from prototyping to production implementation.

• Participate in prototype and production tool launches as well as Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize processes.

• Create and maintain well-documented design files in accordance with IATF 16949 Design Control requirements and established procedures.

• Perform part verification and validation testing, including designing fixtures and writing technical reports.

• Participate in various Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) engineering activities and supporting documentation (FMEA, DVP&R, PQRM, etc…).

• Communicate and coordinate project activities with offsite Application Engineers and Sales/Marketing personnel.  Communication with customers and suppliers is possible.

• Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety/ergonomic standards and good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled and have attained a sophomore status in a 4 year Engineering degree program, preferably Mechanical Engineering or equivalent STEM degree.  Previous work experience with individual responsibility is a plus.  The incumbent must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and to prioritize his/her assigned activities and workload.  A working knowledge of CAD (3D) is preferred, preferably Seimens NX.
