Compliance Specialist

• Ensure that all import and export activities align with the applicable laws and regulations, minimizing the risk of fines and penalties. 

• Classification of products, i.e. commodity codes and Dual Use Regulations 

• Facilitating import transactions – this includes importing goods from outside the EU/UK & providing classifications and instructions to freight forwarders. 

• Consulting with internal departments and functions to make sure procedures are followed 

• Liaising and consulting with customers (internal and external to the company) 

• Support the company's compliance program by participating in internal and external audits 

How will you get here? 

• Strong knowledge of commodity code classifications with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience classifying a diverse range of goods and product families 

• Proven experience with import and export processes in a distribution or manufacturing environment 

• Excellent customer management skills, both internal and external 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Strong English verbal, written, and presentation communication skills 

• Ability to work independently and take initiative 

• Comfortable working in multicultural team 

• Ability to work with and influence various organizational levels, establishing positive working relationships   

• Capability to stay up-to-date with the constantly evolving landscape of trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions imposed by various countries
