About the Opportunity

Cribl is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our Market Strategy team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our market strategy by delivering actionable insights into competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Your analysis will influence key decisions across corporate strategy, product development, sales enablement, and market positioning.

In your first year, you will:

  • Establish a comprehensive, scalable framework for tracking competitors, industry trends, and market dynamics.
  • Provide critical competitive and market analysis to inform product roadmaps, corporate development initiatives, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Provide data and insights that fuel content marketing, positioning the company as an authority on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Support initiatives that showcase the company’s unique value proposition compared to competitors.


What You’ll Accomplish

  • Conduct in-depth research on competitors, including their strategies, offerings, partnerships, pricing models, and go-to-market approaches.
  • Build and maintain a competitive intelligence repository to track key competitors and market trends.
  • Monitor and analyze industry developments, emerging technologies, and market dynamics in the observability and data space.
  • Provide insights into potential market disruptions and opportunities for strategic differentiation.
  • Identify acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and potential areas for investment based on competitive and market intelligence.
  • Assist in due diligence efforts by evaluating competitive landscapes and benchmarking.
  • Partner with product management, marketing, and sales teams to integrate competitive insights into product strategy, messaging, and enablement materials.
  • Create compelling reports, presentations, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable intelligence to sales teams to improve positioning against competitors during deals.
  • Inform executive strategy discussions with comprehensive assessments of the competitive landscape.


What You’ll Bring

  • Over 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, corporate strategy, or a similar role, ideally within a SaaS or data/observability-related industry.
  • This role offers a high degree of autonomy. You’ll need to be a self-starter with a proactive attitude and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends and competitor moves.
  • A thorough understanding of the observability data ecosystem and familiarity with key players, market drivers, and competitive factors  in the market is required.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with market intelligence tools (e.g., Crayon, Klue) and data analysis platforms.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, both written and verbal.


Salary Range ($104,600 - $174,200). The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
