Capgemini is looking for our next Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team to work for a top 10 US Insurance Carrier.
The Cloud FinOps Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud financial operations within an organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of cloud resources. The Cloud FinOps Analyst will analyze cloud usage patterns, forecast expenditures, chargeback/showback, identify cost optimization opportunities, provide cost estimation and prepare cost benefit analysis, establish and enforce cloud governance policies, and implement strategies to minimize costs while maximizing performance.

Responsibilities
1. Cloud Cost Management
- Monitor and analyze cloud spending across multiple accounts and services.
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising performance.
- Ensure accurate tracking and allocation of cloud costs to respective departments.
- Provide regular cost reports and insights to stakeholders.
- Coordinate ad-hoc meetings with IT peers, Infrastructure Team, IT Finance, etc. to review questionable or complicated items and manage through to resolution.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to create cloud budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze historical cloud usage data to predict future expenditures.
- Identify trends and provide actionable insights for cost optimization.
- Propose and implement discount programs, such as reserved instances, savings plans, and volume discounts, tailored to our specific usage patterns and business needs
- Assist in financial audits related to cloud expenditures.
3. Governance and Management
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Establish and enforce governance policies for cloud usage and expenditures.
- Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with data protection regulations.
4. Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure Team and Suppliers to analyze monthly supplier billing and ensure that billing practices are appropriate and accurate, and dispute any irregularity.
- Evaluate new cloud services and offerings for potential cost-saving opportunities, such as discount programs, private pricing agreements, enterprise discount programs.
5. Performance Optimization
- Identify and implement best practices for cloud resource utilization.
- Work with engineering teams to optimize application performance and costs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve cloud architecture for efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- English fluency
- 5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or a related role.
- Proven track record in cost optimization and financial analysis.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including PowerApp, Power BI.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools and platforms, preferably IBM Cloudability
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to cloud operations.
