About the Opportunity
Summary:
The Toronto Campus is seeking a motivated, creative, and customer service oriented individual to fill the role of Campus Operations Assistant. Under the direction of the Operations Coordinator and reporting to the Associate Director of Operations (ADO), the Campus Operations Assistant (CAO) serves as the first line of contact for visitors and students to the Toronto Campus and supports the campus for class sessions which require flexible day, evening, and weekend hours (up to 40 hours per week).
The COA will assist with front desk duties and ensure that students and faculty are appropriately set up to conduct classes and support events. The COA will be greeting and checking students in for classes and will respond to requests and questions from current students and faculty all while approaching each encounter in a gracious, attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Minimum of one-year related experience with a demonstration of increasing responsibilities.
- Effective time management, highly organized, and detail oriented.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong planning, and customer (internal and external) service skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, dependability, judgment, teambuilding and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple groups.
- Must have proficient computer skills with experience in or ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database management.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Campus Operations - 70 %
- Under the direction of the Operations Coordinator, serves as a primary point of contact, internally and externally, for all activities related to campus,
- Act as a liaison and providing hospitality to incoming visitors which could include students and staff from other locations, business partners, and prospective students.
- Complete administrative duties, including but not limited to assisting faculty with printing handouts, organizing marketing materials, and maintaining campus inventory.
- Provide customer service and answer general questions of students and faculty, which may include troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with classroom technology.
- Trained in all safety procedures and systems, including RAVE,
CPR/AED, building access, emergency facilities processes, etc.
- May serve as Operations point person while on duty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Event Support - 30%
- Serve as campus event assistant, serving the needs of internal and external constituents.
- Remain accessible throughout the event for emergencies, questions, concerns, information, and assistance that pertains to event/program. Serve as host at registration table.
- At times, assist Event Specialist in planning and producing major events.
- Assist in event set up and break down.
- Monitor events to ensure a positive, professional experience for all attendees and provide additional support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
This is an 8 month, contract position working 40 hours per week.
Rate of pay is $24.68 CDN per hour and is benefit eligible.
The Toronto Campus is open between 8 am – 9:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am – 6:30 pm Friday – Sunday. Shifts will include days, evening and weekends.
All work shifts are in person, on campus. Northeastern University Toronto has two locations in Downtown Toronto, either at 100 King Street West or 375 Queen Street West.
