What you will do

• Actively review MRP outputs to understand and react to raw material supply needs.
• Work with suppliers to confirm product price and lead time.
• Issue Purchase Orders in support of the production schedule
• Adhere to material spend budgets.
• Track Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance.
• Actively monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery dates and production schedules are being met.
• Communicate raw material schedule misses to production planning.
• Gather data and report on supplier performance, and other relevant performance indices.
• Occasionally, in the absence of the Supply Chain Account Manager:

- Gather raw material pricing information to produce costed bills of material in support of customer quotations.

- Work with customers to clarify any bill of material issues.

- Establish material spend budgets for new customer orders.

• Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures and, if necessary, contribute to their improvement to promote better business practices.
• Proactively build effective working relations with your peers to support optimal supply chain operations.
• Perform other occasional assignments in the spirit and purpose of the role and within the scope of the Supply Chain Management function

What you will need

• 5+ years in a purchasing or similar role. Consideration may be given to recent graduates of a Supply Chain Management, or similar, post-secondary academic curriculum.
• Prototype/NPI and low volume manufacturing experience is an asset.
• College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management is considered an asset.
• APICS, PMAC or other Purchasing/Supply Chain qualification/certification is an asset.
• Profound understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in MS-Excel and other MS-Office software.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• ·Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate, both internally and externally.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload, ensuring key milestones and regular deadlines are achieved.
