What is the point of this role?
You’ll be joining our highly collaborative Commvault Infrastructure team, engineers will be involved in the support, troubleshooting and configuration of backups across a range of servers & solutions. In addition to this, candidates will support the team and projects through automation and scripting capabilities to bring additional value to the backups function. Candidates are expected to have a strong understanding of backup technologies and supporting/configuring backups.
What will I be doing?
- Acting as a 3rd line escalation point for technical teams and Associate Engineers within the team
- Improving platform efficiency/integrations via automation, scripting & RESTful API’s
- Working on key project implementations
- Maintain good interdepartmental relationships with other technical and commercial teams through regular interaction and collaboration.
- Assist senior engineers with project implementation
- Work with the team to monitor and respond to issues across our backup infrastructure
- Working with vendors to raise escalations and troubleshoot issues.
- Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
- Working to deadlines and adapt priorities according to business needs
- Liaise with other teams on project work
What will I bring to the role?
- Strong technical background
- Operational experience of Commvault software or similar backup systems
- Scripting & automation responsibilities & skills for PowerShell scripting and RESTful API's
- Experience of project-based work
- Comfortable navigating and administrating large scale enterprise backup solutions
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Good technical understanding of networking
- Understanding of RAID fundamentals
- Experience of supporting at least one of the following OS’:
- Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL/Alma)
- VMWare vSphere (7.0 knowledge desirable)

- Commvault Certified Engineer (Desirable)
