About the right team member
The Associate Technical Writer works with subject matter experts and cross functional teams to drive the development of content including implementation guides, training materials, and other technical documentation, ensuring consistency and standardization across all materials. This person must be fluent in English for reading, writing, and communication with our customers and internal stakeholders.
This role will require being in a Technical Support role for the first 4-6 months of their position before transitioning into the Associate Technical writer position.
About the role
- Create and update internal and external written content that aligns with the Mindbody brand voice and tone
- Create original content
- Ensure all written content is accurate and appropriately for the audience it is serving
- Coordinate Knowledge Base information and index content appropriately
- Coordinate and train other departments and partners regarding content and features in the Mindbody Support Center
- Partner with internal stakeholders on documentation needs to ensure the internal team and Mindbody customers have self-serve tools available to meet their needs
- Develop high-quality technical written content that can be shared with our customers, and internal teams in repeatable, reusable and predictable formats
- Collaborate with the team on how we can continue to improve the self-service tools we provide our customers and team members
- All other duties as assigned
Skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or 2-4 years’ experience in related position
- Native or Fluent in English, with experience writing materials for English Speakers
- 2-3 years of experience writing technical publications, standard operating procedures guides and manuals
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, public speaking, writing, and editing
- Experience in quickly reading, understanding, and documenting software and operating processes • Knowledge of database and internet-based software
- Demonstrated knowledge in Word, Excel, and Salesforce
- Self-learner and self-starter mentality
- Ability to work in an extremely agile environment
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines
