McLarty Associates is seeking a bright, resourceful, highly organized individual to serve as an Associate for the firm’s South Asia practice. We are seeking to fill this position immediately.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support for South Asia practice directors and senior advisors;
  • Project management of multiple client initiatives;
  • Monitoring regional news outlets;
  • Conducting research and analysis of economic, political, security, trade, technology, public policy, international, and business issues;
  • Writing memos, compiling biographies, preparing presentations;
  • Attending and reporting on events, speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients;
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking candidates who have/are:

  • A BA/BS or MA in International Relations, Political Science, International Business, Asian/South Asian studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of relevant, professional work experience. Strong background, demonstrated interest, and experience living or studying in South Asia, as well as an appetite for international politics and international business broadly.
  • Responsive to requests and inclined to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the directors and the broader team.
  • Detail-oriented, able to manage expense reports, juggle meeting requests, and draft material with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional organization skills with an independent and creative nature.
  • Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner, and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in a cogent business writing style; able to convey major points in succinct format.
  • Proficient with Office 365, especially Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as comfort interacting with high-level individuals and collaborating in a team environment, with a team spread across the globe.
  • Social media skills are a plus.
  • Fluency in a South Asian language, preferably Hindi.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.

McLarty Associates is operating under a hybrid work environment and currently requires individuals to be in-person three times a week in our Washington, DC offices.
