The Associate Scientist executes scientific experiments under limited supervision contributing to the conception, design, and interpretation of scientific data in support of research projects.

In this role, you will…

Participate in scientific collaborations and reporting of data in technical reports and scientific journals

Maintain required documentation for processes and equipment
-
Participate in the design of scientific research experiments under limited direction
-
Work closely under the direction of scientific staff for the implementation of scientific experiments, data collection and their interpretation

Function effectively as a team member on one or multiple projects
-
Participate in writing internal/external reports and scientific documents in support of internal projects
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Scientific degree in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, chemistry or equivalent.
-
Strong background in development of bio-assays to be used to provide preclinical proof of principle of vaccine or monoclonal antibody efficacy.
-
Experience with a range of immunological techniques covering Flow cytometry, Luminex, functional assays (e.g., serum bactericidal assay or opsonophagocytosis), confocal microscopy and cell culture.
-
Independently execute laboratory experiments, conduct statistically supported data analysis and present results.

Fluency in both Italian and English languages
-
Sound scientific methodology, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

PhD in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, chemistry or equivalent

Being able to understand & implement processes specific to Pre-Clinical R&D and to GSK with minimal bureaucracy and a focus on efficiency

Strong organizational and communications skills
-
Understanding of internal policies required to maintain high quality standards and to protect GSK intellectual property
