The Assistant Product Manager, Consoles, plays a pivotal role in supporting the software product management team by ensuring the success of new and current console software initiatives, future roadmaps, and priorities. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality communication, analytic dashboards, training, and field testing while contributing to ongoing product management improvements and market research efforts.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Product Development & Engineering facility in Franklin Park, IL. The position requires in-office collaboration on Tuesdays through Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays. #LI-Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
Product Training & Education Support
- Work with sales enablement and marketing to effectively train the sales force on console technologies.
- Work with service support teams on training, documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
Logistics & Coordination
- Support beta and field-testing logistics for software releases, ensuring timely and effective communication between customers and internal stakeholders.
Communication & Collaboration
- Support market research activities by gathering and analyzing data to inform product strategies, and working with the market research team.
- Work with the software team to manage major software bugs or failures, act as lead for organizing and driving corrective action, and communicate to the service, sales, customer, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the user experience team on software requirements and general experience expectations.
- Monitor and report major trends and updates in digital fitness.
- Monitor and report out on console analytics to drive insights for new feature development
Project Management
- Drive planning and roadmap refinement sessions with business and engineering teams.
- Provide support for larger new development projects managed by product managers.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Product Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in product management, engineering, or a related field (fitness industry experience is a plus).
Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with agile mythologies and design sprints.
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel occasionally for field testing, trade shows, customer visits, etc.
At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $67,100 - $81,800 annually.
This role is categorized as non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Franklin Park, IL and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
