Job Overview
The Architect is an experienced technology professional skilled at designing solutions that strikes the right balance between meeting the needs of the business and satisfying IT, finance, security, risk, legal, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of solution design. Define and propose appropriate architecture and designs based on the business needs, both for current state and target state architecture. Solutions may go across different business domains and involve many different applications in the bank.
- Conduct assessments, proof-of-concepts, and provide solution options (can be both high level and low level) for business ideas, in line with design principles set by the Chief Architect.
- Help define and deliver the architecture and engineering roadmap.
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (both Business and IT) to ensure solutions are aligned with ING target architecture, strategy, and technology standards.
- Lead & facilitate the architectural activities to ensure the quality of the entire solution. This requires closely working with the Project Stakeholders including but not limited to Product Owners, IT Engineers, Local Architects, and Global Architects in an agile environment.
- Adhere to all ING policies and complete all mandatory training requirements.
Key Capabilities/Experience
- Experience in the role of an architect (or similar function) working in a complex IT environment
- Strong engineering background in software development
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Knowledge on several architecture patterns such as Domain Driven Design
- Knowledge on different Software and Data Modeling Methodologies
- Knowledge on IT processes and SDLC
- Knowledge on Web Services and 12 Factor Apps
- Knowledge on Web Application Design (component-based) and Mobile Apps (native and hybrid)
- Knowledge on Containers and Container Orchestration Platforms
- Knowledge on Relational and NoSQL databases
- Strong written and communication skills (English)
- Strong stakeholder, expectation, & conflict management
Optional
- Experience working with Public Cloud
- Working in a regulated industry especially in banking or finance
- Good understanding of EU regulations and legislations
