The Role
The Analyst, Consumer Data is responsible for providing data-driven insights and analyses in support of the commercial teams and brand partners. This person will work closely with various business partners to define problems/opportunities, identify relevant data sources, perform analyses/modeling, and then deliver actionable data via visual dashboards. This role is an expert at turning business questions into functional analysis, bringing raw data out of source systems and into slick visualizations that can tell a story to aid in decision making. The Analyst, Consumer Data will work with a wide breadth of data-consumers across Deckers to support commercial growth and unlock new opportunities for our family of brands.

Your Impact
The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:
- 1. Create and maintain standardized Tableau dashboards to provide ongoing data and insight for internal stakeholders
- Produce unique data visualizations to better illustrate business results and consumer insights
- Turn business questions into functional analysis – understand the business as well as the data behind the analysis and assess impact of analyses in terms of sales, profitability, and other KPIs
- 2. Partner with the data & digital team to extract business value from centralized data repository and make recommendations into how data-assets can be improved to better serve business-needs
- Attend and ongoing cadence with peers in Deckers’ Data Council to ensure data-alignment across other analytics functions
- 3. Produce datasources via SQL queries to support business requests that can’t be answered with current suite of certified datasources
- Write advanced SQL queries within cloud data solutions (specifically, AWS Redshift or Snowflake)
- Work with both structured and unstructured data: blending datasets, data wrangling, maintenance, and cleaning
- 4. Ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot and advise support teams on data issues that arise
- Comfortable with data-quality-assurance practices and explaining data issues to non-technical stakeholders
Who You Are
- A successful candidate in this role has the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to design solutions to insight-gaps as it relates to data & dashboards. They are a team player with excellent communication skills that can relate to people at all levels of an organization. They are comfortable presenting insights & data-product to a wide variety of departments within Deckers and has excellent relationship-building skills both virtually and in-person.
We’d love to hear from people with
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Statistics or related field
- 2+ years of experience in generating analysis on large datasets, preferably in a direct-to-consumer context
- Proven track-record of effectively working with a variety of stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Full-stack analyst: ability to work with a variety of data-sources & systems to solve complex business questions
- 2+ years of data visualization experience.
- Tableau development experience required
- Strong Skills in Excel, Tableau, and SQL required

$90,000 - $95,00
The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
